Publication and Activation

When you’ve previewed your pages and are ready to start selling, it’s time to make your B2B Commerce store available to your customers. First, configure a custom domain and CDN. Assign the store a custom URL. Then publish the store and activate it.

  • Configure a Custom Domain and CDN
For B2B stores created with the LWR template, if you prefer a branded URL or a URL without my.site.com, connect your store to a domain. Connecting the store to a domain automatically enables the Salesforce content delivery network (CDN) partner. You can use a single custom domain for multiple Commerce stores. A Salesforce admin typically configures the custom domain.
  • Connecting a B2B Store to a Third-Party Domain
If you’re using a third-party provider to manage your domain, you can connect your Salesforce store to the domain. When shoppers enter the domain URL, they are redirected to your store. By connecting your store, you can still use the third-party provider to manage and renew your domain. When you connect your store and domain, Salesforce sets up a content delivery network with Cloudflare.
  • Connect a B2B Store to Your Domain
Redirect shoppers to your Commerce store when they enter your domain URL. When you connect your store to a domain, your store has access to the Salesforce content delivery network (CDN), with Cloudflare as the CDN partner. If you don’t yet have a domain, you can choose one from the sample registrars or any other trusted registrar.
  • Use a Custom URL for Your Store
The default URL for a Commerce store includes a temporary path you specified when creating the store. The default URL is suitable for testing pre-production stores during development. However, before you launch a B2B store created with an LWR template into live production, we recommend that you configure a custom URL for the store. Associate the custom URL with a custom domain served by the Salesforce CDN, with Cloudflare as the CDN partner. For B2B stores created with an Aura template, a custom URL is optional. However, we recommend using a custom domain and corresponding CDN if broad access and high security are required.
  • Publish Your Store
As you work on your B2B store, you can preview what it looks like to customers. When you’re ready to make it public, you publish the store and then activate it. You also republish your store whenever you make changes.
  • Activate Your Store
Activating your B2B store makes it available to customers and accessible to external services and online search engines. Activating the store also publishes it.
  • Deactivate Your B2B Commerce Store
Deactivating your store makes it inaccessible to customers. Deactivate only when you want to temporarily or permanently bring down the store.
  • Disable the Welcome Email for Your B2B Commerce Store
When you activate your store, all members of the site receive a welcome email. You can turn off this feature before you activate so that the email isn’t sent.
  • Publish Your B2B Store as a Mobile App
Transform your LWR-based B2B store into a branded, native mobile app for Apple and Google Play. Using Mobile Publisher for Experience Cloud, you can offer buyers a secure mobile experience featuring push notifications, biometric login, and streamlined purchasing.
