# Create a Buyer for a B2B Store from a Person Account

One way to add a buyer is to enable a person account as a buyer account and a customer user. The individual identified in the person account has access to stores related to the account’s buyer group. When you enable a person account as a buyer, you can't convert the person account to a business account. You also can't merge the account with other accounts. To merge or convert the account, you must disable it as a buyer, merge or convert the account, and then reenable it as a buyer.

You can also create a buyer account in your Customer workspace. See [Use the Customer Workspace to Add a Buyer for a B2B Store](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_buyer_from_cust_wkspc.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "The simplest way to add a buyer is to create the buyer account from the Customer workspace.").

.

1. In the App Launcher, find and select **Accounts**.

Make sure that person accounts are enabled for your org. See [Enable Person Accounts for Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.commerce_enable_person_accounts.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Person accounts are required for D2C stores, which use them to represent shoppers who visit the store and purchase products. Person accounts are optional for B2B stores, which typically use business accounts that include multiple buyers. You can either set up person accounts through the automated process from the Commerce Setup Assistant setup page or manually. This topic describes the steps to use to enable person accounts manually, without using Commerce Setup Assistant.").
2. Click **New**.
3. If you’re given an option of what kind of account to create, select **Person Account**, and click **Next**.
4. Enter the account information, and click **Save**.

    Important

In the Account Currency dropdown, select the preferred currency. If you don’t choose an account currency, or if you choose a currency that a store doesn’t support, the buyers see prices in the store’s default currency. If you change the account currency, buyers’ in-progress carts are cleared.
5. From the Actions dropdown, select **Enable as Buyer**.

If you ever disable the account as a buyer, any associations the account has with buyer groups are deleted.
6. From the Actions dropdown, select **Enable Customer User**.
7. Enter the buyer’s username, email, and nickname.
8. Select the license, profile, and permission set.

The permission set determines the level of access that the buyer has to the store. See [Permission Sets for Buyers, Buyer Managers, and Account Switchers for B2B Stores](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.commerce_buyer_and_buyer_mgr_perm_sets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Manage access to your commerce store's features and data by using the preconfigured permission sets for buyers, buyer managers, and account switchers.").
9. Click **Save**.
