Offer your buyers discounts for bulk purchases by setting up tiered pricing based on the number of items purchased.
Required Editions
- In the App Launcher, find and select Price Adjustment Schedules, and click New.
- Name the price adjustment schedule, and select the currency.
- Click Save.
-
In the Related tab, click New for Price Adjustment
Tiers.
NoteWhen you use fractional quantities with tiered pricing, the quantity rounds down to the nearest whole number to determine the tier and apply the appropriate price. For example:
Default Price: 200
Tier 1: 1–10 is 10% off
Tier 2: 11–20 is 20% off
If a buyer enters a quantity of 10.5, 10% off (Tier 1) is applied. However, the 10.5 quantity is shown in the cart and in checkout.
-
Select a tier type:
- Percentage: Apply a percentage discount from the current price.
- Amount: Apply a fixed amount discount from the current price.
- Override: Set an exact selling price regardless of the current price.
Note Tier type Override is available only if you've configured Advanced Pricing. See Configure Advanced Pricing for Commerce in Your B2B Store.

ImportantMake sure that tier boundaries don't overlap. For example, if one tier is 1–10, set the next tier's Lower Bound to 11, not 10. Overlapping boundaries (such as 1–10 and 10–20) create duplicate pricing entries, causing the pricing call to fail, and preventing buyers from seeing prices.
- For the lower bound, enter the number of items that must be purchased to reach the first pricing tier.
- For the upper bound, enter the number of items that must be purchased before the buyer reaches the next tier. If there's no limit, the upper bound isn't required.
- Save your adjustment schedule.
- Under Is Active, click Edit, activate your schedule, and click Save.
- Select Add Price Book Entries.
- Select the price book that you want to add the price adjustment schedule to.
-
In the Add Price Book Entries window, select the products that you want to add the
price adjustment to.
For subscription products, select the product selling model that the adjustment applies to. If you don’t select a product selling model, the adjustment applies only to non-subscription purchases.
- Click Finish.
-
You can manage your price adjustment schedules from the store.
- From the Commerce app, in the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
- Select Merchandising | Pricing, and then click the price book you want to manage.
- On the Related tab, in the Price Book Entries section, select the action dropdown for a product.
- Select Manage Price Adjustments.
You want to reduce the price by 10% when a buyer purchases more than 100 items, and 15% for more than 200 items. An item that costs $100 is reduced to $90 after the customer meets the 100-item threshold. It’s reduced to $85 dollars when the 200-item amount is met.
You could also choose a fixed amount, such as reducing the price by $10 at every tier level. In that case, an item costs $90 after 100 items, and $80 after 200 items.
You can also use the Override tier type to set a flat price. For example, to sell items at exactly $75 when a buyer purchases 100 or more, set the tier type to Override and enter 75 as the tier value. Buyers see $75 regardless of its original price when they meet the quantity threshold.
