# LWR and Aura Store Templates

Starting with Summer ’23, all new B2B stores are built on the Lightning Web Runtime (LWR) platform. Some B2B stores still use the Aura platform and, in some places, the Commerce App UI and documentation still refer to Aura features and components. If you’re using a new LWR store, you can ignore the Aura information.

Having all stores use the LWR platform allows you to build B2B stores using the same technology and components. LWR components use building blocks, which break up large components into smaller units, making it easier to customize components. For example, a Product Page can contain three multifunctional components with rich and varied features. Traditionally, customizing elements on the page required addressing all the components and rebuilding the entire page. The investment in time and resources can be steep.

With building block components, LWR store pages are broken into discrete units of functionality that are easier and faster to customize. For example, it’s easier to add a custom variations component to the Product Page because you can swap out one component instead of rebuilding the entire page. You can drag building blocks onto a page from the Experience Builder component catalog as for other store components.

If you’re using a B2B store built on an older Aura template, we recommend migrating the store to an LWR template. See the [B2B Commerce Aura to LWR Migration Guide](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/commerce/lwr-migration/guide).
