Create a Tax Policy

A tax policy determines how taxes are calculated and applied to products during checkout. When you configure the manual Salesforce tax solution in your B2B store, create a tax policy for each product type, so that the correct taxes can be applied when buyers check out their cart. A tax policy must be associated with a tax treatment.

1. In the App Launcher, search for and select Tax Policies.
2. Click New.
3. Enter a name for your tax policy.
4. Specify a Treatment Selection.
5. Select the default tax treatment.
6. Set the status, and save your changes.
   If you haven't already created the tax treatment, set the status to Draft and then save your changes. After you create the tax treatment, update the tax policy and then mark the tax policy as active. After a tax policy is active, you can edit only the tax policy's description.
