# Create a Buyer Group Based on a Data Segment

Personalize your customers’ shopping experience by combining the power of Data 360 segments and Commerce buyer groups. Build a targeted customer group using Data 360 segments and associate it with a Commerce buyer group. You can then deliver personalized promotions and content that directly caters to customer needs and interests.

Before you begin, [set up Data 360 for Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_datacloud_commerce_setup_b2b_d2c.htm&language=en_US).

1. In the App Launcher, find and select Data 360, and then create and publish a data segment by applying filters to capture the data you need.
    
    You need
    
    Data 360
    
    Admin access to complete this step.
    
    For example, you can use the Sales Order data model object filters to create a data segment of customers who made at least one high-value purchase in the past year. See [Create a Segment in Data 360](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_create_a_segment.htm&language=en_US).
2. If your org is using a version before Summer ’24, add the Data 360 Segment component to the Buyer Group page.
    1. At the top of the page, click ![Setup](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-comm-264-0-0-production-enus/d863e308-482a-4dfa-8d20-2a94737d394a/comm/images/comm_setup_icon_no_border.png) and select **Edit Page**.
    2. Drag the Data Cloud Segment component to the Related Lists section.
    3. Save your changes and activate the page.
3. Create a buyer group.
    1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the **Store** dropdown.
    2. Select **Customers** | **Buyer Groups**.
    3. Click **New**.
    4. Enter the information, and for the role, select Data 360 Segments.

    5. Click **Save**.
    6. In the Related section, under Data 360 Segments, click **Assign**.
    7. In the Assign Data 360 segments window, select one or more data segments, and click **Assign**.
