Configure Markets for Your Commerce Store

Use one B2B store to segment customers into markets based on their locale. When you create a market, assign a price book, an entitlement policy, a currency, ship-to countries, and the locales that it supports. After you create a market, you can also assign a promotion.

  1. Create a market.
    1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
    2. Select Settings | Store, and then click Markets.
    3. Click Create Market.
A market is a special type of Buyer Group record where the Role field on the Buyer Group is set to Market.
    4. Enter a market name and description, and click Save.
  2. Click Related.
  3. Next to Price Books, click Assign, and select the price book for the market.
Make sure that the price book has entries in the currency that you want to use for your market.
  4. Next to Commerce Entitlement Policies, click Assign, and select the entitlement policy for the market.
  5. Next to Supported Ship-To Countries, click Assign, and move the ship-to countries for your market to the Chosen list.
Ship-to countries apply to all locales in the market.
  6. (Optional) Select a market currency.
If you don’t select a market currency, each locale in the market uses the currency assigned to that locale in the org. If you do select a market currency, it applies to all locales in the market and overrides the currency assigned to the locale in the org.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. Next to Locales, click Assign, select the locales for your market, and click Assign.
You can have a total of up to 25 active locales for a store across all markets. For example, your store could have one market with 25 locales or 25 markets with one locale each. A locale can be used only one time across all markets assigned to a store.
    Important
Important As soon as you add locales to a market, the market is active in the store.
  9. From the store’s home page, click the Experience Builder tile.
  10. From Settings, select Languages.
  11. Click Edit Languages. If necessary, adjust the languages so that the Site Languages include every language that you assigned to all locales in the market, and click Save.
  12. In the components palette, drag the Country Selector component to a page in your store.
When a customer goes to your store, they can use the Country Selector to choose their locale. The locales available in the Country Selector are the locales that you added to the markets for the store.
  13. At the top left of the Experience Builder, click Publish.
  14. Rebuild the search index.
    1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
    2. Under Settings, click Search.
    3. Under Search Index, click Update.
    4. Click Full Update, and then click Update.

To add a promotion to the market, assign it to the Buyer Group record that represents the market. See Target Customers with a Promotion Segment.
