# Manage Guest Access to a B2B Store

A guest is someone who isn’t logged in to your store as an authenticated customer. Depending on the level of access that you provide, guests can browse your store, add products to their cart, and place orders.

For D2C stores, person accounts must be enabled before you can enable guest access. See [Enable Person Accounts for Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.commerce_enable_person_accounts.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Person accounts are required for D2C stores, which use them to represent shoppers who visit the store and purchase products. Person accounts are optional for B2B stores, which typically use business accounts that include multiple buyers. You can either set up person accounts through the automated process from the Commerce Setup Assistant setup page or manually. This topic describes the steps to use to enable person accounts manually, without using Commerce Setup Assistant.").

Note D2C sites hosted on Experience Delivery require guest access to be enabled.

If you configure your Salesforce org by using Commerce Setup Assistant and enable Person Accounts, guest access is automatically enabled when you create a store.

To prevent unauthenticated guests from browsing your store and seeing your catalog and products, you can disable guest access. Disabling guest access unassigns buyer groups from the guest buyer profile.

These steps describe how to enable guest access if you want to do so manually.

1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the **Store** dropdown.
2. Select **Settings** | **Store**, and then click **Buyer Access**.
3. Under Guest Access, click **Enable**.

If guest access is partially or fully configured, the button is labeled Disable. To reconfigure guest access settings, click **Disable** and then click **Enable**.
4. To let a guest log in as an authenticated user without emptying their cart, enable **Preserve Guest Cart**.
5. Add entitlements and price books to the market.

See [Configure Markets for Your Commerce Store](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_configure_markets.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use one B2B store to segment customers into markets based on their locale. When you create a market, assign a price book, an entitlement policy, a currency, ship-to countries, and the locales that it supports. After you create a market, you can also assign a promotion.").
6. To set up what guests can search for, update the Field Level Security settings for the Product and Product Attribute fields.
    1. Click ![Setup](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-comm-264-0-0-production-enus/d863e308-482a-4dfa-8d20-2a94737d394a/resources-global/_corporate/images/gear.png) at the top of the page, and then select **Setup**.
    2. In the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and select **All Sites**.
    3. Next to the name of your store, click **Builder**.
    4. To access settings, click ![Settings](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-comm-264-0-0-production-enus/d863e308-482a-4dfa-8d20-2a94737d394a/resources-global/_corporate/images/gear.png) and under Guest User Profile, click the profile name link.
    5. Scroll down to Field Level Security, click **Product \[View\]**, and click **Edit**. For all fields that you want guest users to be able to search, select Read access, and then click **Save**.
    6. If you’re using product variations, under Field Level Security, click **Product Attribute \[View\]**, and click **Edit**. For all fields that you want guest users to be able to search, select Read access, and then click **Save**.
    7. To include products that guest customers are entitled to, rebuild the search engine. See [Update the Commerce Search Index](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_search_index_build.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Update your search index so that changes to your products appear on your search and category pages. You can manually update the index or turn on automatic system updates.").
7. To make sure that you’ve provided the correct level of access, preview your store as a guest.

Some settings can take a few minutes to take effect.
8. To ensure that your guests can view product categories, [Configure Default Store Navigation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_store_navigation.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
