# Ensure Account Access with One-Time Passwords as Multi-Factor Authentication Fallback

If service issues prevent the use of multi-factor authentication (MFA), you can log in using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) from a registered authenticator app. This fallback option ensures that you maintain access to B2C Commerce applications and works with your registered Salesforce or third-party party authenticator apps. To use this fallback option, make sure that you register at least one authenticator app that supports TOTP.

**Where:** This change applies to Account Manager for B2C Commerce.

**How:** In the case of a multi-factor authentication service disruption, the Account Manager login screen shows your registered authenticator apps. To log in, select an app and enter the TOTP. You can’t register a new authenticator during MFA outages.
