# Set the Default for Include Vowels and Y to No for Coupon Codes

The default setting for generating coupon codes now excludes vowels and the letter Y. This change helps prevent system-generated coupon codes that are potentially offensive or confusing.

**How:** For new sites, the default value of the preference Include Vowels and Y is set to No. To update the setting for existing sites, in Business Manager, select the **apps icon** | **Merchant Tools** | **Site** | **Site Preferences** | **Coupons** and update the setting to No.
