# Shopper Profile Sync

Shopper Profile Sync connects your B2C Commerce shopper data with records in your Salesforce org. This integration automatically syncs registered shoppers as person accounts and provides a unified view of each customer across Commerce, Service, and other Salesforce apps.

With bidirectional sync, profile updates to mapped attributes in either system appear in both—whether a shopper updates their phone number on your storefront or a service rep updates a loyalty number in Salesforce. Shopper Profile Sync doesn't sync [external profiles](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/commerce/commerce-api/guide/slas-public-client.html#user-with-external-profile) managed by third-party identity providers (IDPs). An external profile is distinct from the shopper profile that B2C Commerce creates for a shopper. For shoppers who authenticate with a third-party IDP, B2C Commerce creates a shopper profile, and that profile is synced. Synced data includes any custom fields you add and populate (for example, IDP-related information).
