# Prerequisites for Visual Merchandising

Ensure that users have the necessary permissions to use B2C Commerce Visual Merchandising.

If you plan to create boost and bury rules, configure rule attributes first.

- **[Enable Visual Merchandising for a User Profile](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_enable_visual_merchandising_user.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**  
    To enable B2C Commerce Visual Merchandising for users in your company, add Visual Merchandising and Global Custom Preferences to the appropriate roles. After you enable it, select Merchant Tools to see Visual Merchandising in the left navigation panel under Products and Categories.
