# Set the Payments Instance Status for B2C Commerce

Choose whether your B2C Commerce instance processes test or live payments.

1. In Business Manager, click App Launcher ![App Launcher](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-cc-b2c_merchandiser_administrator-264-0-0-production-enus/ea76f372-6cfa-42a6-8e7c-05c6df7abed8/cc/b2c_merchandiser_administrator/images/appLauncher.png), and then select **Merchant Tools** | **Site** | **Commerce Apps** | **App Catalog**.
2. In the Installed Apps section, for Salesforce Payments, click **Manage**.
3. In the Advanced Settings card, for Instance Status, click **Change**.

4. Select the instance status.
    
    - **Test**–Use in development or sandbox instances to verify that Salesforce Payments works as expected after you modify your payment configurations or add a payment type. No real charges occur in test mode.
    - **Live**–Use in production instances to process transactions. Real charges occur in live mode.
5. Save your changes.
