The first priority in merchandising your site is creating a catalog and category structure. Deciding this requires strategic thinking about the navigation of your storefront, along with other considerations. When your category structure is in place, you can configure your products. For information about building your category structure, see [Building Your Site Structure.](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_building_your_sites_informational_structure.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "When building your B2C Commerce site, the order that you collect and generate the underlying product, content, and promotional qualifier information in matters. In general, create your catalog, product and pricing information first, and then create a marketing program to promote your products.")

To watch merchandising tasks demonstrated step by step, see our [B2C Commerce Video Tutorials](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_videos.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Watch instructional videos and step-by-step tutorials for B2C Commerce Business Manager. Learn how to rebuild search indexes, assign products to categories, create promotions and discounts, add products to the catalog, localize content in Page Designer, build dynamic customer groups, set visibility rules, manage content assets, use granular replication, and create Business Manager roles.").

- **[Catalogs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_catalogs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
B2C Commerce stores your product data in a catalog. A catalog is a collection of the products that you sell, organized into different categories.
- **[Categories for B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_categories.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
You create and organize categories and subcategories to organize and group products in your catalog and on your storefront. For example, an outdoors outfitter site uses Boots, Climbing Gear, and Outerwear categories to organize products on their storefront.
- **[Products in B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_products.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Products are the items and services you sell. B2C Commerce stores all of your product data in your base product catalog. Your base product catalog can also be your storefront catalog or you can create a separate storefront catalog. You organize a catalog by categories. Categories can act as the storefront navigation to your products. For a product or service to show on your storefront, assign it to a category. Create any number of catalog, category, and product scenarios to address your business needs.
- **[Recommendations in B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_recommendations.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use B2C Commerce to implement recommendations using a variety of approaches.
- **[Page Designer for B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_creating_pd_pages.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Page Designer is a B2C Commerce feature that supports standard development processes and tools for creating reusable page types and component types. Merchants can use a visual editor in Business Manager to design, schedule, and publish custom pages in the storefront by dragging the page and component types.
- **[Content Blocks](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_content_blocks.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Content blocks are modular, reusable units of content that you create in B2C Commerce Page Designer and manage centrally using the Content Blocks module in Business Manager.
- **[Campaigns and Promotions in B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_campaigns_and_promotions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
In the Business Manager Online Marketing module, create campaigns and A/B tests that act as wrappers, containing experiences that include promotions, content slots, and sorting rules. Slot configurations and sorting rules, however, don't require assignment to campaigns or A/B tests to take effect. Slot configurations can be scheduled outside the context of an A/B test. A default sorting rule can be set for a category in a storefront catalog outside the context of a campaign or A/B test.
- **[Gift Certificates](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_gift_certificates.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**

Shoppers can purchase a gift certificate and email it to a recipient of their choice, redeem a gift certificate as a method of payment, and check a gift certificate balance. Create gift cards, report on gift certificate statistics, and import and export gift certificates. You can also process gift cards programmatically. See B2C Commerce API documentation for more information.
