Make sure that you update all your prices according to the preferred tax policy before you change this preference.

You can:

- Upload tax tables from another system
- See how tax calculations can significantly impact the B2C Commerce subscription fees that you pay
- Implement item-level price adjustments
- Understand VAT Implications

3. On the Tax Classes tab, you can:

    - Create a tax class for your site.
    - Set a tax class to be the default tax class. This tax class is used for products and services that are not assigned to a particular tax class.
    - Delete a tax class.
4. On the Tax Jurisdictions tab, specify tax jurisdictions for your site.

When tax jurisdictions are determined based on jurisdiction mappings, B2C Commerce tries to find a jurisdiction for the combination of Address Mapping Attribute 1 (for example, _state_) and Mapping Attribute 2 (for example, _zip_). If no specific jurisdiction can be found, the system falls back to a jurisdiction represented by just Mapping Attribute 1 (for example, _state_). If it can't find a jurisdiction for this mapping, it returns the default jurisdiction.

    - Create a tax jurisdiction.
    - Set a tax jurisdiction to the default tax class.
    - Delete one or more tax jurisdictions.

Note Large number of unnecessary tax classes and jurisdictions can exceed the 10 MB limit of Internet Store Markup Language (ISML) template. Exceeding the 10 MB limit causes the TaxRate page to result in an error.
5. On the Tax Rates tab, specify tax rates for your site. On this page, you define the tax rates for any combination of tax class and tax jurisdiction.

    - Enter the _exempt_ tax rate for tax class/tax jurisdiction combinations.
    - Enter the _standard_ tax rate for tax class/tax jurisdiction combinations.
