# Using Non-Production B2C Commerce Environments with Data 360

Starting with release 26.1, use non-production B2C Commerce environments with Data 360 features such as Engagement Events and Near Real-Time Segmentation.

Previously, you couldn't use non-production instances with Data 360 features, which were available only for production instances serving live traffic. You can now enable these features for non-production instances to test your configurations, validate your data flows, and develop integrations without affecting production data.

Supported non-production B2C Commerce instances include:

- On-demand sandboxes (ODS)
- Development instances
- Staging instances
- Production instances in designated test realms (realms not serving live traffic)

Data from non-production instances is processed separately, keeping it isolated from your production data.

See [Connect Your B2C Commerce Instance to Salesforce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_connected_comm_salesforce_connection.htm&language=en_US) for more information.

## Enable Data 360 for Non-Production Instances

To use Data 360 features with a non-production instance, turn on the **Enable Reports & Dashboards Data Tracking** feature switch. For instructions, see [Set Feature Switches (Toggles) in B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_feature_switches.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Salesforce B2C Commerce sometimes introduces new features that are disabled by default, because they can disrupt your existing sites.").

After enabling the feature switch, wait up to 2 hours for provisioning to complete.

## Features Available on Non-Production Environments

The following Data 360 features are available for non-production instances:

- [Apache Iceberg Connector](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_data_cloud_iceberg_domain_data.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Set up the Apache Iceberg File Federation connection to ingest B2C Commerce domain data—including products, orders, customer profiles, and custom attributes for products and customer profiles—into Data 360."): Ingest B2C Commerce domain data (including products, orders, customer profiles, and custom attributes) into Data 360.
- [Salesforce B2C Commerce Intelligence Connector](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/data/data-cloud-int/guide/c360-a-set-up-b2ce-connection.html): Query B2C Commerce data from Data 360.
- [Engagement Events](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_data_cloud_send_engagement_events_container.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "As shoppers interact with B2C Commerce storefronts, they generate engagement events, such as adding an item to a cart or starting checkout. Ingest this real-time data into Data 360 for harmonization, insights, and personalization."): Send shopper engagement events to Data 360 for segmentation and personalization.
- [Near Real-Time Segmentation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_data_cloud_near_real_time_container.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "B2C Commerce storefronts can now leverage customer segments created in Data 360 on a near real-time basis, eliminating the need for batch activation. With up-to-date customer segments, your storefronts can provide timely, personalized, and targeted shopper experiences."): Use Data 360 segments to personalize shopper experiences.

## Features Unavailable on Non-Production Environments

The following Data 360 feature is not available for non-production instances:

- [B2C Commerce Connector](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_datacloud_connectors.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "When you provision Data 360, it's connected to your Salesforce org and has access to data from B2B Commerce and Salesforce Order Management. You can use connectors to bring data into Data 360 from other sources, such as order data from B2C Commerce or engagement data from websites and mobile apps."): Transactional data ingestion to Data 360 (order bundles, customer profiles) is not supported for non-production instances.

## Use Cases

Common use cases for non-production environment support include:

- **Testing Data 360 integrations**: Validate data flows, segment configurations, and activations before deploying to production.
- **Development and QA**: Use Development or Staging instances to build and test storefront integrations with Data 360.
- **Sandbox experimentation**: Use on-demand sandboxes to prototype new configurations without affecting production data.
- **Demonstrations**: Use designated test realms to showcase Data 360 capabilities to stakeholders.
