# Create a Segment for Near Real-Time Segmentation

A segment groups unified B2C Commerce individuals for near real-time segmentation. Create a segment from the DataKit Segment template and set its publish schedule.

Note Before you perform the following steps, first [install the data kit](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_data_cloud_install_the_data_kit.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "The data kit makes it easy to define a data stream in Data 360 from B2C Commerce. It also makes it easy to configure a connector with the correct schema and mappings.").

1. From the Data 360 app, select **More** | **Segments**, and click **New**.
2. Select **DataKit Segment** and click **Next**.
3. Select **commerce-b2c-datakit**.
4. Select the **B2C\_Individual\_Segment** template, and click **Next**.
5. Accept the field values and click **Next**.
6. Select **Rapid Publish**, and click **Next**.
7. Specify values for **Publish Schedule**, **Start Date**, **Start Time**, and **End Date**, and click **Save**.
