# Near Real-Time Customer Segmentation with Data 360

B2C Commerce storefronts can now leverage customer segments created in Data 360 on a near real-time basis, eliminating the need for batch activation. With up-to-date customer segments, your storefronts can provide timely, personalized, and targeted shopper experiences.

Note The topics in this section require the installation and use of the commerce-b2c-datakit data kit. The data kit provides a complete solution for near real-time segmentation: it uses the Web and Mobile Apps connector to ingest engagement events data into Data 360, and it provides pre-configured templates for segments and data graphs. The data kit also handles the data lake object (DLO) to data model object (DMO) mappings required for this flow. If you use other connectors for data ingestion (such as the Apache Iceberg connector), manually configure the DLO to DMO mappings.
