# Create a Dynamic Customer Group in B2C Commerce

A dynamic customer group is a group with changing membership. Membership is based on purchase history, profile, address, or active data. You can also base membership on membership in system and static customer groups. You can't base membership on dynamic customer groups.

Watch this video to see how to create a dynamic customer group.

If you can’t watch the video in full screen, open this link in a new tab: [Create a Dynamic Customer Group in B2C Commerce](https://salesforce.vidyard.com/watch/zwGd7j2pQzjTbdpkjTRDwW).

Create a dynamic customer group for a targeted campaign, micro-site, and product line.

1. Click App Launcher ![App Launcher](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-cc-b2c_merchandiser_administrator-264-0-0-production-enus/ea76f372-6cfa-42a6-8e7c-05c6df7abed8/cc/b2c_merchandiser_administrator/images/appLauncher.png), and then select **site** | **Merchant Tools** | **Customers** | **Customer Groups**
2. Click **New**.
3. Enter an ID (mandatory).
4. Select **Dynamic**.
5. Click **Save**.
6. On general tab, enter or edit a description.

For example, `Female customers from the United States and Canada who spends an average of $100 or more per order)`.
7. To add a condition, in the Membership Rule section:
    1. Click **Add**.
    2. Click **Select Attribute** and select from the list.

Use the search-as-you-type functionality to quickly find attributes.
    3. Select an operator.
    4. Select a value.
8. Use the square icon on the left to drag a condition from one position to another.

Drag and drop within an inclusion or exclusion list or from an inclusion to an exclusion and vice versa.
9. To change the relationship between conditions, select AND or OR.

Best practice: If you add one of the following two conditions, AND makes more sense than OR>:

    - Average order value over $50 AND Country is Italy
    - Average order value over $50 OR Country is Italy

The following is a better OR condition.

    - City is Denver OR City is Boulder
10. (Optional) Create a condition for a session custom attribute:

    1. Click **Add** to add a rule.
    2. Click **Select Attribute** and select **Session Custom Attribute**.
    3. Enter the name of the session custom attribute, for example, Release\_Number.
    4. Press **Enter**.
    5. Select an operator from the list.
    6. Click **Select Value**, enter a value, and click **Add**.
    7. Enter a value and press **Enter**.

To change a session custom attribute, click the cell and the text field opens. You change the condition type (for example, from _Session Custom Attribute_ to _Birthday_), but the system clears the existing operator and values. Delete the condition and create a one.
11. To delete a condition, click the delete icon to the right of it.
12. Click **Save**.
13. To edit an existing dynamic customer group:
    1. Select **site** | **Merchant Tools** | **Customers** | **Customer Groups**.
    2. Click the ID of a group.
    3. On the general tab, enter or change the description.
    4. To edit a condition, click it.
    5. Follow the previous instructions.
