# Configure A/B Test Segments for B2C Commerce

After you create an A/B test for B2C Commerce, configure test segments on the Segments tab. A maximum of five test segments is permitted, one control group and up to four user-defined segments.

1. Select **New Test Segment**, and complete the fields.

    - **Test Segment ID**—Salesforce B2C Commerce API, imports, and exports can access this ID.
    - **Description**—(Optional) describe the test segment. The B2C Commerce API doesn't provide this description, and B2C Commerce doesn't localize it because it's for internal use only.
    - **Allocation**—determines the percentage distribution of participants among the test segments, including the control group.
2. Configure test experiences.

Five test experiences are available for each segment, each with its own tab.

    - Promotions
    - Slot configuration
    - Sorting Rules
    - Keyword Search Sorting Rules
    - Search Preferences
3. Configure one or more experiences for the segment. Select each tab and configure the settings.

Link your sorting rule to a storefront sorting option that appears only in A/B tests.
4. (Optional) To configure custom scripting beyond what's available in Business Manager, turn on **Custom Scripting Template**.

To learn more about custom scripting, see [A/B Testing for Developers in B2C Commerce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_ab_testing_for_developers.htm&language=en_US)

To review the segment, preview the test segment on a storefront.
