# Category Attributes for B2C Commerce

Modify the default category attributes, and create custom attributes that are appropriate for a category.

For example, your primary category for dresses is Women's Dresses. You want a dress size chart to show with the dresses in the Women's Dresses category. To show the size chart, you define a custom category attribute for a dress size chart, and then assign it to the Women's Dresses category attributes.

You define category attributes in the Category system object attributes definitions. You modify the category system object in the Business Manager Administration > Site Development > System Object Types > Category.

The default category attributes include settings for SEO, Sitemap, Presentation, Search Ranking, and Customer attribute options. To customize a category Attribute option for your site, set, add to, or delete attributes from the category system object.
