# Create a Workspace in Tableau Next

Everything in Tableau Next begins in a workspace. To create an analytical asset in Tableau Next, you must start in a workspace.

### Required Editions

To create a workspace, follow these steps.

1. On the Tableau Next home page, click **New Workspace**.
2. Name the workspace.
3. Add a description for the workspace.

Note The workspace name and description metadata is visible to others from Home when they click **Show Information** on your workspace.
