# Batch Data Transforms Limitations in Tableau Next

Batch data transforms have these limitations.

- You can't use the same data object for both input and output nodes.
- You can't write multiple transforms to the same object, but definitions within the same transform can write to the same object.
- Multi-Definition Transforms (Merge Records) aren't currently supported in Tableau Next, so a batch transform is limited to a single definition.
