To begin using Semantic Model Optimization, an administrator must first enable it.

Note Semantic Model AI Optimization is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at [Agreements - Salesforce.com](https://www.salesforce.com/company/legal/agreements/) or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the [Product Terms Directory](https://ptd.salesforce.com/). Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer's sole discretion.

1. Navigate to the administration page of Tableau Next and go to the Settings page.
2. Enable SDM AI Optimization (Beta).

Enabling Semantic Model AI Optimization (Beta) triggers a scan of all semantic models. A persistent label—Optimize Model—appears in the semantic model builder to show the AI-readiness strength of your models. The label is updated dynamically as you make changes.
