# Add an Existing Data Asset to a Tableau Next Workspace

You can add existing assets such as data connections, data model objects, dashboards, and semantic models, to new or existing Tableau Next workspace.

### Required Editions

1. In a Tableau Next workspace tab, click **Add** and select **Data**.
2. In the Add Data dialog, under Add Existing, select **Data Object** or **Data Connection**.
3. From existing assets select the one you want to add to the workspace.
4. To narrow your search, filter the assets by workspace or type or enter a name in the Search box.
5. Click **Add**.

The selected data asset appears on the Workspaces page. A small icon is shown next to the asset in the workspace that signals that the asset is a referenced asset and it lives outside of the workspace shown.
