## Assign an unmetered Tableau Next license and permission set to a user

After users are created in Salesforce, you can assign permission sets to them within the Tableau Next app. Each Tableau Next permission set that you assign to a user consumes a license. You can view your license status as you assign permission sets.

1. For users that have an old Tableau Next permission set, go to Setup > Users > Permission Set Assignments. Click **Edit Assignments**, select the old permission set, click **Remove**, and click **Save**.
2. In Tableau Next, click **Administration**, and then click **Settings**.
3. Under Manage Users, click **Users**.
4. In the Users pane, click **Add**. You can view the permissions included in each permission set on the User Management page of Tableau Next Administration.
5. On the Add Users page, click **Provision Existing Users**. The users who aren’t assigned Tableau Next permission sets are listed.
6. Select the users that you want to assign Tableau Next licenses to, and click **Next**.
7. Select the user that you want to assign permission sets to. You can select multiple users if you want to bulk assign the same permission set to a set of users. Click **Assign Permission Set** to specify a Tableau Next permission set to the user(s) you selected. You can view your license status as you assign permission sets.
8. Review the assignments, and click **Next**.
9. Review your changes, and then click **Add Users**.

## (Optional) Create and assign a custom permission set

With Tableau Next Creator and Consumer licenses, you can provide users with unmetered access via a custom permission set.

Create your custom permission set with the **Access includes unmetered Analytics Insights and Agentic Analytics workloads** permission, and then assign the permission set to the users.

1. Create a custom permission set.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter permission sets, and then select **Permission Sets**.
    2. Click **New**.
    3. Enter a name for the label and click **Save**.
    4. From the new permission set you created, on the System tab, click **System Permissions**.
    5. Click **Edit** to edit the System Permissions. Select **Access includes unmetered Analytics Insights and Agentic Analytics workloads** from the list and save.
2. Add a custom permission set to a user.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter users, and then select **Users**.
    2. Select the user.
    3. On the Permission Set Assignments section, click **Edit Assignments**.
    4. For users that have an old Tableau Next permission set, select the old permission set, click **Remove**, and click **Save**. Then go back to the Permission Set Assignments section, and click **Edit Assignments** again.
    5. Select your custom permission set that has the **Access includes unmetered Analytics Insights and Agentic Analytics workloads** permission, and click **Add**.
    6. Click **Save**.
