# Add Custom Disclaimers to Exported Reports

Control the legal and compliance language on your exported reports using custom disclaimers. Add a custom disclaimer after the standard Salesforce disclaimer to ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and international standards.

### Required Editions

1. In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Reports and select **Reports and Dashboards Settings**.
2. Select **Use Custom Disclaimer on Exported Reports**.
3. In the text field, add the custom disclaimer after the standard Salesforce disclaimer.
    
    The standard Salesforce disclaimer appears first and can’t be removed.

    Note The text field supports up to 765 bytes. Because characters use 1 to 4 bytes depending on the language and encoding, the number of characters you can enter varies.
4. Click **Save**.
    
    The custom disclaimer appears as a footer only in Formatted Report exports (.xlsx).
