# Add Fields to an Extended Model

In an extended model, you can add standard or custom fields that weren’t originally selected in the base model. You can edit these fields only in the extended model. They aren’t included in the base model.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: All editions supported by <span>Data 360</span>. See <a href="https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_dc_editions.htm&amp;language=en_US" target="_blank"><span>Data 360</span> edition availability</a>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

1. Use the **Select Data Objects for Semantic Model**, or click **Manage Fields** from the left pane for a specific data object.
2. Select the fields that you want to add and confirm.
3. This field is added to the extended model only and can be deleted if needed.

Note

Within the extended model, you can’t delete fields originally defined in the base model. Also, you can’t add a field to a calculated insight defined in the base model.
