# Retrieve a Semantic Model from Your Org

Retrieve a semantic model from your org to edit it locally.

1. Run `Tableau Semantic: List Models` in the Command Palette to view available models in your org.
2. In the Explorer panel, right-click the workspace folder where you want to store the model files.
3. Select **Tableau Semantic: Retrieve Model to Folder**.
4. From the list that appears, select the model you want to retrieve.

The extension creates a folder named after the model and downloads all model components as organized JSON files. For details on what's generated, see [Semantic Model Folder Structure](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.c360_a_sl_model_folder_structure.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "When you retrieve a model, the extension creates a folder with organized JSON files.").
