# Set a Primary Name Field

Before setting the Primary Name Field, think about:

### Required Editions

1. In Data Cloud, on the Semantic Layer tab, select the semantic model.
2. In the Semantic Model Builder, click the table or logical view to open its metadata.
3. Identify the field that you want to set as the Primary Name Field. In the action menu next to its name, click **Edit Properties**.
4. In the Primary Name field, select the requested field or start typing its name to find it.
5. **Apply** your change.

You can **Reset** to the default field, or change your setting, after considering the applications on the Analytics Agent answers.
