# Install VS Code and the Salesforce Tableau Semantics Extension

Install VS Code and extensions required to build semantic models.

1. Download and install VS Code from [code.visualstudio.com](https://code.visualstudio.com/).
2. Open VS Code and go to **View** | **Extensions**.
    
    Alternatively, to open the **Extensions** panel, press Cmd+Shift+X (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+X (Windows/Linux).
3. Search for Salesforce Extension Pack and click **Install**.
4. Search for Salesforce Tableau Semantics and click **Install**.
    
    Alternatively, you can install the extension directly from the [VS Code Marketplace](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/).
