Note Tableau Agent: Semantic Modeling appears on the new canvas. The builder opens on the new canvas. To use Tableau Agent after you switch to the classic canvas, switch back to the new canvas.

Tableau Agent applies your request to the open semantic model. Edits from Tableau Agent and edits that you make on the canvas stay pending until you save or discard them.

1. Open the semantic model in the Semantic Model Builder.
2. Select **Tableau Agent: Semantic Modeling**.

Tableau Agent mode appears with suggested prompts. To exit Tableau Agent mode, select **Exit Agent Mode**.
3. Describe the change, or select a suggested prompt.

When the request changes the semantic model, the canvas shows the objects and relationships that changed. When the request asks for a summary, Tableau Agent answers in the prompt.
4. Review the added and updated objects on the canvas.

To see each modification that remains from the session, open **Review Changes**. To see each request that you sent in the session, open **Assistant Log**.
5. To adjust a change, edit the canvas.

Your edits stay pending with the Tableau Agent changes.
6. Save your changes.

The semantic model stores the pending changes. Tableau Agent stays open, and the canvas shows the saved model.
7. To drop the pending changes instead of saving them, select **Discard** before you save.

The semantic model returns to the last saved version. If you leave Tableau Agent before you save, Tableau Agent drops the unsaved changes.
