# Import Usage Data to Analytics for Subscriber Lifecycle Management App

Import usage data from an external source to the Analytics for Subscriber Lifecycle Management app to show usage metrics in relevant dashboards.

1. Create a CSV file with these fields (Field Name), in this order, with these exact names.

    Field names are case-sensitive.

    | Name | Contents |
    | --- | --- |
    | AccountId | (Text) Unique ID to identify the account that owns the subscription. |
    | Product2Id | (Text) Unique ID to identify the product. |
    | Year | (Text) Effective year for the subscription. |
    | Month | (Text) Number of months. |
    | Days | (Text) Number of days. |
    | Hours\_Usage | (Numeric) Number of hours. |
    | Sessions | (Numeric) Number of sessions. |
    | Failed\_Sessions | (Numeric) Number of failed sessions. |

Create and open CSV files using only a UTF-8-compliant text editor. Opening them in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software reformats .CSV files and makes them unusable in CRM Analytics. Also, review the format requirements, like date formats, in the [CRM Analytics External Data Format Developer Guide](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/analytics/bi-dev-guide-ext-data/guide/bi-ext-data-schema-overview.html).
2. Save the CSV file.
3. Create the app.

For information on how to create the app, see [Create and Share the Analytics for Subscriber Lifecycle Management App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_template_create_subscriber_lifecycle_analytics.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create an app from the Analytics for Subscriber Lifecycle Management template and then share the app with your users.").
4. Open the app, click **Datasets**, and then locate the Media\_Usage dataset.
5. Click **Edit**.
6. Click the Replace Data icon.
7. Click **Select a file** or drag the file.
8. Select the CSV file that you created, and then click **Open**.
9. Click **Next** | **Next**, and then click **Upload File and Replace**.

The next time the dataflow for your app runs, CRM Analytics adds Media\_Usage to relevant dashboards. For more information on uploading a CSV file, see [Upload a CSV File to Create a Dataset](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_dataset_create.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
