Before you create an app, make sure that:

- The object that you want to analyze has fields with [Field History Tracking](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.security_field_history_tracking.htm&type=5&language=en_US) and valid history records
- The Analytics Integration User has the appropriate [Salesforce field-level security](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_templates_field_level_security.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before creating an app from a template, you may have to give the Analytics Integration User access to all fields used in the app.") to view the fields that you want to analyze

1. From the Analytics tab or Analytics Studio, click **Create** and then select **App**.
2. Select the Change Analytics template to open the guided flow.
3. Select an object.

Only the objects with history tracking enabled are listed.
4. Select up to eight fields to track.

Only the object’s fields that have history records are listed.
5. Select up to eight fields to include with the tracked fields.

The history for these fields isn’t tracked, but they’re included in the app’s datasets and dashboard filters for context.
6. Click **Looks good, next**.
7. Name and save your app.

Use a name that makes the app easy to find. For example, if you’re analyzing changes in the Case object, use a name such as Case Object Change Analytics.
