# Download and Upload Recipes

Download and upload your recipe as a JSON file.

### Required Editions

Note Only upload recipe JSON files if you’re an experienced user. Uploading an invalid JSON file can break the recipe, making it unable to render in the recipe editor.

1. In Data Manager, click the **Recipes** tab.
2. Click the dropdown ![Actions button](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-analytics-bi-264-0-0-production-enus/ec791473-f5b4-4f64-a656-9104f455d966/bi/images/bi_recipe_actions_button.png) to the right of the recipe name, and select **Download** or **Upload**.
3. Selecting **Download** exports the recipe as `JSON` to your default browser download folder.
4. Selecting **Upload** prompts you about overwriting the existing recipe.
    1. Click **Continue** to proceed.
    2. Use the folder explorer to select the recipe `JSON` file to upload and click **Open**.
        
        If the file fails to upload, the recipe isn't overwritten.
