# Recycle and Restore CRM Analytics Dashboards and Lenses

When you delete a dashboard or lens, it moves to the Recycle Bin instead of disappearing for good. You have 30 days to restore it to its original state before it's permanently gone.

Deleting a dashboard or lens sends it to the Recycle Bin, where it's safe for 30 days. While an asset sits in the Recycle Bin, its subscriptions and notifications pause, so no one receives updates from a deleted asset. Restore the asset to bring it back exactly as it was and resume its subscriptions and notifications. After 30 days in the Recycle Bin, CRM Analytics removes the asset permanently.

**Subscriptions, Notifications, and Watchlists**

- **Widget Subscriptions.** If a dashboard has widget subscriptions, you can't move it to the Recycle Bin or permanently delete it until you remove those subscriptions.
- **Slack Subscriptions.** Starting in Winter ’27, moving a dashboard or lens with a Slack subscription to the Recycle Bin hides the subscription and automatically restores it when you restore the asset. In earlier releases, moving the asset to the Recycle Bin permanently deleted its Slack subscriptions.
- **Watchlists.** When you delete a dashboard or lens, its watchlist entries are detached without notification. Unlike subscriptions and notifications, watchlist entries don't come back when you restore the asset. Add the asset to your watchlist again.
- **Notifications and Subscriptions Limits.** Notifications and subscriptions in a Recycle Bin asset are hidden, but they still count against your org's notification and subscription limits. Permanently delete the asset to free up that capacity.

**Visibility, Search, and Packaging**

- **Search and Navigation.** Recycle Bin assets don't appear in Global Search, Analytics Studio search, Favorites, or Collections. They appear in the Recent Items list, but opening them throws an error.
- **Packaging.** Recycle Bin assets cannot be included in packages. Adding an active dashboard to a package and then moving it to the Recycle Bin will cause package installation to fail.
- **API Access.** REST API requests for a Recycle Bin asset return a 404 response. Metadata API calls can't retrieve a Recycle Bin asset, and attempts to update one return an error stating that the dashboard is in the Recycle Bin.

**Dependencies and Permanent Deletion**

- **App/Folder Deletion.** Permanently deleting an app or folder permanently deletes everything inside it, including assets already in the Recycle Bin.
- **Datasets.** You cannot delete a dataset if a dashboard depends on it, even if that dashboard is in the Recycle Bin. You must permanently delete the dependent dashboard from the Recycle Bin first.
