# Make CRM Analytics Dashboards Actionable

Design each dashboard so that the audience can act on what they see without leaving Salesforce.

Make each action map to a step in the monitor-investigate-act flow. See [Design for Your Audience: Personas and the Path of Inquiry](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_dashboard_design_audience.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before you choose charts or layout, understand who uses the dashboard, what they need to do with it, and whether to structure your app around personas or tasks. Designing for a specific audience keeps a dashboard focused and prevents it from becoming a catch-all.").

- Add actions to table rows and charts so that users can update a record, such as an opportunity stage, in context.
- Add action buttons to start a Salesforce flow, run a mass action, or go to a destination.
- Link table rows to the related account, opportunity, or case record.

For example, on an opportunity dashboard, add a table action that updates the Stage field directly from a row instead of requiring the user to leave the dashboard, or add an action button that starts a flow to schedule a follow-up task.
