# What Is Salesforce Platform

Salesforce Platform is the product that makes it possible for Claude and other AI tools to work directly with your Salesforce data, workflows, and permissions, without custom integration work. It's part of AIforce, Salesforce's underlying architecture for AI-to-data connections.

You configure Salesforce Platform one time, as part of setting up Salesforce in Claude. That setup creates a specific Salesforce MCP connection: the actual link between Claude and your org.
