# Skill Versions

A skill version is a snapshot of a skill’s instructions and configuration. The published version is the one that runs.

### Required Editions

To keep a version, click **Save as a New Version**. To select that version, click **Publish**.

Only one version runs at a time. If you publish a new version, that version replaces the one that ran before.

To stop the skill from running, click **Unpublish**. Unpublish stops runs and removes the skill from My Skills. The skill doesn’t run again until you publish a version.

Delete draft versions. To delete the version that runs, unpublish it or publish a different version first.
