A skill is a reusable workflow that gives an Agentforce agent or Agentforce Coworker guidance for a repeatable task. Unlike a prompt template, which generates text in one pass, a skill can also run tools as part of the same task, such as creating or updating records, sending email, or posting to Slack.

Each skill includes these parts:

- Instructions: Markdown that tells the large language model (LLM) what to do and in what order.
- Tools: What the skill can run in Salesforce or connected systems, such as querying, updating, or creating records, or sending email.
- Context: Reference data that grounds the skill in your org, such as a policy document or a competitor list.
- Inputs: Record IDs or values the skill needs at run time. Page context supplies inputs when possible.

Get started in this order.

1. Assign AI Skill User or AI Skill Manager so that Skills appear in the App Launcher, Agentforce Studio, and Agentforce Coworker.
2. Create a skill with instructions and, if needed, tools and context.
3. Publish and share the skill. Recipients add it to My Skills from Browse.
4. Run from My Skills, with /, or by describing the task using Coworker.
