1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Search Manager, and then select **Query Configurations**.
2. Select the configuration that you want to edit.

You need a configuration to manage searchability. See [Target a Search Configuration for a Channel](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.search_manager_target_channel.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create a configuration to target specific user needs in global search, users in Experience Cloud sites, or service agents in the Knowledge console. Select searchable objects and fields, and optimize search.").
3. Edit searchable objects.
    - If you selected a global search configuration, in the Objects List, select an object and turn searchability on or off.
    - If you selected an Experience Cloud site configuration, see [Edit Searchable Objects in an Experience Cloud Site Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.search_manager_edit_lwr.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Keep up with changing user needs by updating which objects are searchable in a configuration for LWR Experience sites.").
4. Edit searchable fields.
    1. In the Objects list, select a searchable object. You can only edit searchable fields in searchable objects.
    2. Click the dropdown next to the field, and select **Include in Search** or **Exclude from Search**.

If the field has a ![Locked icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-ai-search-264-0-0-production-enus/6a28c936-3b68-4186-bc09-7ab905f33ef3/search/images/search_manager_locked.png)icon, it’s a locked standard field, and you can’t change its search state.
    3. Save your changes.

Your changes apply automatically.

Note To enhance Einstein Search performance, searchability of custom objects that aren't searched for more than 120 days is disabled. To enable object and field searchability, contact your admin.
