# Search Manager Considerations

Keep some considerations in mind when using Search Manager.

Salesforce admins can track all searchable objects and the search status of each field in each object. When finding what is searchable, keep these limitations in mind.

| Field: | Searchable In: |
| --- | --- |
| Account Name | Only searchable under the **Contact** and **Opportunity** object |
| Content Owner | Only searchable under the **Content Version** object |
| Topic and File | Searchable under the **Knowledge** object, but these fields don’t appear on the Search Manager page. |

- Search Manager configurations require Einstein Search to be enabled. By default, Einstein Search is enabled in all Salesforce Orgs. If you disable Einstein Search, select **Actionable Instant Results** in Einstein Search Setup to enable it.
- When you exclude an object from Search Manager, you don’t get results for questions and answers and most recently used records. Natural Language Search (NLS) isn't affected by this exclusion.
- You can select up to 40 searchable objects per search configuration in an LWR site.
- You can configure the Person Account object with an Account configuration, but you can’t configure fields that are specific to Person Accounts such as Email. Contact configurations don’t affect Person Accounts.
- Search Manager doesn’t support external objects.
- For instant results, Search Manager can’t add fields as searchable if they aren’t searchable by default. For example, if you define a picklist field as searchable in Search Manager, it still isn’t searchable in instant results.
