# Select Data Model Objects as Sources for Search Answers

Specify Data Cloud data model objects (DMOs) and fields to use as sources for AI-generated Search Answers. Use Lightning App Builder to create a Lightning record page for each DMO so that users can see the source records for the AI-generated summaries.

To search knowledge articles in orgs created after Spring ’25, map the knowledge articles to a DMO in Data Cloud and select the DMO as a source object for Search Answers. See [Sales and Service Bundle Data Mappings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_sales_service_bundle_data_mappings.htm&type=5&language=en_US) and [Salesforce CRM: Knowledge Article Mapping](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.c360a_api.meta/c360a_api/c360dm_crm_ka.htm).

You can choose up to 5 DMOs from the default data space to use as sources.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find Box, enter Search Manager, and then select **Search Setup**.
2. Select **Manage Search Answers**.
3. In the Objects column, click a DMO, and then select **Include in Search Answers**.
4. Select the field to use as the title for citations in AI-generated answer cards.
5. Select additional text and long text fields to use as sources for the generated response.

For example, select fields that contain the actual details for a response such as an information field. Fields with limited information such as date, picklists, numbers, or name fields do not provide adequate contextual information necessary for search answers.
6. Save your changes.

Next, use the Lightning App Builder to [create a Lightning record page](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.lightning_app_builder_customize_lex_pages.htm&language=en_US) for each DMO that you selected so that users can see source records for AI-generated responses. Use the Record Page type, and add the fields that you selected as sources for Search Answers to the page layout.
