# Remove a Template Reference in a Flow

Remove dependencies on a prompt template so you can safely delete or modify the template without breaking other components.

### Required Editions

1. For each flow listed, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then select **Flows**.
2. Open the flow.
3. Locate the Prompt Template action.
4. Replace the action with a different template, or remove the action.
5. Click **Save**, and then click **Activate**.
6. Return to Prompt Builder, and then repeat the steps to open the Delete Template modal.
7. Verify that no references appear.
8. Delete the template version, or update the template as needed.
