New prompt templates open in the Block Editor. Existing templates stay in the Classic Editor until you convert them. Conversion is one-way. After you convert a template, you can’t return it to the Classic Editor.

Pasted Markdown, RTF, or HTML text keeps its formatting when you paste it into the canvas.

  1. From Prompt Builder, create a prompt template or open an existing template.
  2. If the template is in the Classic Editor, click Convert to Block Editor.

Format Prompt Instructions

  1. To add a heading, type #, ##, or ### at the start of a block, and then press Enter.
The block converts to a Big, Medium, or Small heading.
  2. To apply bold, italic, or underline, select text, and then use the toolbar or press Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, or Ctrl+U (Windows) or Command+B, Command+I, or Command+U (macOS).
Markdown syntax also works as you type: **bold**, *italic*, and __underline__.
  3. To create a bulleted list, type - at the start of a block.
    Numbered lists are also supported.
  4. To insert a horizontal divider, type ---.

Add Resources and Rearrange Blocks

  1. Type / to open the slash-command menu, and then insert merge fields, related lists, flows, Apex, files, or other resources.
  2. Type @ to insert a merge field from grounded resources.
  3. To rearrange, duplicate, or delete a block, click the Block actions menu.
  4. To navigate between blocks, use the up and down arrow keys.
  5. To test your template, enter test data, and then click Preview.
  6. Click Save.
