# Agent Memory Considerations

Review these considerations before you rely on Agent Memory to personalize your agent conversations.

- Agent Memory works only with agents that use Agent Script in Agentforce Builder. Legacy agents don't support Agent Memory.
- Each agent can store up to 50 memory entries for you. You can also store up to 50 user-level memories that all of your agents can use. The limits are separate. When you reach a limit, the oldest memories are automatically replaced by new ones, without notification.
- Review and manage your memories before you reach a limit, to preserve the ones that matter to you.
- Memory management varies by agent type. In Lightning Experience, you can use the Memory & Preferences panel to add and manage your memories. Elsewhere, such as on a messaging channel or mobile app, you manage memories conversationally. For example, ask your agent to show what you remember about me to view your memories, remember that I prefer short meeting summaries to add a memory, delete what you remember about my shipping preference to delete a memory, or turn off memory for this agent to opt out. See [Manage Your Agent's Memories Conversationally](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_memory_manage_conversationally.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Manage your memory preference and stored memories by talking to your agent, if you're chatting with it outside the Agentforce panel in Lightning Experience.").
- When you add a memory in the Memory & Preferences panel, you can enter up to 1,333 characters. If the memory is already in your Stored Memories list, Agentforce keeps only the original, even though a success message appears.
- Your admin can turn off conversational memory for the whole org. Agents then stop creating and using memories, and the Memory & Preferences icon disappears from the Agentforce panel. Existing memories stay saved, but agents don't use them while the setting is off.
