If you use Salesforce in Lightning Experience, you can manage your memories directly through the Memory & Preferences panel. If you chat with an agent elsewhere, for example on a website, portal, or messaging channel, you manage your memories by talking to the agent instead. See [Manage Your Agent's Memories Conversationally](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_memory_manage_conversationally.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Manage your memory preference and stored memories by talking to your agent, if you're chatting with it outside the Agentforce panel in Lightning Experience.").

## How Agent Memory Works

As you interact with an agent, it can identify relevant information from your conversation and save it as a memory. The next time you interact with the same agent, it can use those memories as context to provide responses that are more relevant to you.

For example, if an agent remembers a preference or information you provided in an earlier conversation, it can use that information in a future conversation instead of requiring you to provide it again. Each agent can store up to 50 memories for you. You can also store up to 50 user-level memories that all of your agents can use. When a limit is reached, the oldest memories are automatically replaced by new ones. Review your stored memories periodically and remove information that you no longer want the agent to use.

## Control What Agents Remember About You

You can control whether an agent creates memories from your conversations and manage information that it has already remembered.

For Agentforce Employee agents in Lightning Experience, you can use the Memory & Preferences panel to manage your memory preference and stored memories. See [Manage Agent Access to Your Memories](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_memory_manage_access.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Choose which agents can create memories from your conversations. Turning off access for an agent stops it from creating new memories, without deleting the ones it already created.").

## Manage Your Stored Memories

You can review the information that agents have remembered about you and manage it when your preferences or circumstances change.

In the Memory & Preferences panel in Lightning Experience, you can:

- Choose which agents can create memories from your conversations.
- View and search your stored memories.
- Edit memories that are inaccurate or outdated.
- Add memories that you want an agent, or all of your agents, to know.
- Import memories for an agent.
- Export your memories.
- Delete memories that you no longer want an agent to use.
