1. [Connect Salesforce and Slack](https://slack.com/help/articles/30754346665747-Connect-Salesforce-and-Slack).
2. In Agentforce Builder, [add the Slack connection to your agent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_connections_set_up.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To get started with deploying your agent to channels, add connections to it. Each connection includes behind-the-scenes instructions that help an agent reason and respond for one or more channels. Each connection contains adaptive response formats that help your agent structure responses and deliver multimedia content, such as images, buttons, links, and videos. You can find adaptive response formats and other settings, including the Omni-Channel flows that route conversations to and from an agent, in your connection settings."). Or, in the legacy builder, [install the Slack external client app](https://slack.com/help/articles/36218109305875-Set-up-and-manage-Agentforce-in-Slack#connect-salesforce-and-slack) and then add Slack as an external app in your agent’s Messaging connection.
3. [Give your users access to your agent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.agent_manage_aea_access.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Control user access to specific Agentforce Employee agents with permission sets or profiles. In Agentforce Builder, use the Agent Access page. In the legacy Agentforce Builder, use the Agent Access tab.") and then [activate it](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.copilot_setup_activate_deactivate.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Activate your agent to make it available to your customers or employees. When an agent is deployed to one or more channels, including the Agentforce panel, activating the agent makes it immediately available to your users."). When an agent interacts with a user in Slack, the agent respects the user’s Salesforce licenses, permissions, and other access controls.
4. If you have a Pro or Business+ Slack subscription, install your agent in your Slack Workspace.
    1. On the left-hand sidebar, hover over **Admin** and then select **Manage Agentforce**.
    2. Next to the agent name, click **Review agent**. Review the agent’s permissions and then click **Install agent**.
5. If you have an Enterprise Slack subscription, install your agent in one or more Slack Workspaces.
